Dennis Bates comes to SpiritLight as a confirmed but amiable contrarian. A baby boomer who had all the trappings of success, Dennis found his second calling in the exciting world of telling love stories . To Dennis, the love story does not end with the first kiss. In fact, he'd tell you that's just the beginning!

And he is just contrarian enough to think a guy could have a perspective on love that needs to be told.

His books focus on the facets of relationships that are all too often forgotten and pushed aside for quick and easy stories full of fluff. Dennis could never be accused of playing it safe in his stories, but they always challenge the reader to think about life and God's great love in new ways.

With his initial release, Under the Burr Oak Tree, Dennis begins the journey of his second-calling (the one that got away the first time but by God's grace came around again!).
